Lance Axon Interview

What’s your dream?

"My dream is described by many as the American dream. What I want is generational wealth. I want to get to a point where I don’t have to worry about money my kids don’t have to worry about money my fucking kids kids kids don’t have to worry about no money. I want to get to a point of not only financial freedom but mental freedom as well."

When did you realize that was your dream and what inspired it?

"I mean from a young age I’ve always known that I wanted to be successful and I was gonna be something bigger than myself but I guess just growing up and seeing the struggles of my own family and just seeing others around me really push me into want to scroll & to really strive for it. I mean who don’t want to be ballin."

Do you feel like it’s possible to achieve it in this city? If not where else would you like to try at?

"Feel like anything is possible anywhere it just depends on the type of person you are. I feel like if the dream depends on where you’re at then it’s not the dream for you. You know we make our own destinies make our own journey. it just takes us to put in the action to making things fall through."

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

"In a motherfucking Tesla. But in a real note religious beginning to test financial freedom and just living my best life not worrying about bills and other sort of things. I don’t know I’m pretty young anything really the world is my canvas."

Message to your younger self, present self, and future self?

"To my younger self I wouldn’t really tell myself anything honestly. I feel like all the good and all the bad made me into the person I am today and without it I wouldn’t be where I am today so just let it ride out and watch that shit goes. To my present self just keep being determined and striving for the best and nothing else making sure that I put 100% into everything that I do so I can see the return later. And to my future self just to maintain the authenticity and myself throughout it all, I don’t want to be that person that switches up because of success or anything like that, I was staying humble and remembering where I came from."

Do you have any questions for me?

"What is your goal and purpose of this publication? Where do you actually see you going years from now? What are your feelings on online media versus print media? What’s your main focus as a journalist?"

My purpose for creating this magazine was to put the dreams of others in Colorado onto a pedestal. In simpler terms I want to create a showcase of Denver's talent and future creatives. However you don't have to be in the arts to be considered for this magazine. I want it to be non-exclusive. A magazine for anyone and everyone.

I see myself happy. I came from a lot of darkness as a child and I thought the fame or fortune would heal the bleeding I endured, but turns out even with all that power it doesn't stop the pain. So all I look forward to in the future is genuine everlasting happiness.

I would have to say I'm quite neutral on both, but I guess I side with online media slightly more because that's what I'm currently doing but in the future I would like to go to print.

My main focus is to tell everyone who's reads, your story. I want them to say that they actually know or can relate to you after they read your interviews!

How did you like shooting for J’Rêves Magazine?

"I mean the shoot for the magazine was fun. I always like to just link up with other creators and other people really just trying to create something whether it be photos or fashion anything really so it’s always a fun time to connect with local people and really see what other people are really doing out here in these streets."
